What You’ll Do: Our campus organizers work to build campus support for NC Peace Action events. You’ll be a youth leader in shaping U.S. foreign policy. Here are the resources and experiences you’ll have access to:
- Be a part of a student activist community and receive trainings from leading peace and justice organizations. In the past students have received trainings from: Amnesty International, CODEPINK, Women Against War, ONE Campaign, BLM & more.
- Connect to field experts on U.S. foreign policy and military intervention from experts in a range of fields, including: victim documentation in Yemen, U.S. defense spending, and Iraq War veterans.
- Use NC Peace Action resources to take action on key legislation that matters to you. We’ll send you up to date resources on current legislation shaping U.S. foreign policy, and all the petitions, call scripts, town hall questions & other tools to make a difference.
- Lobby your Representatives in your district, the state, and in Washington, D.C.
How This Works: You’ll connect with staff in weekly one-on-one check-in calls. The time commitment is about 10 hours per week and you’ll receive a $500 stipend check per semester.
Who We Are: NC Peace Action is the state-affiliate of Peace Action, the nation’s largest grassroots peace advocacy organization. We work to support refugee resettlement, promote human rights, support survivor-centered advocacy to end war, abolish nuclear weapons, stop arms deals to nations committing war crimes, and redirect defense spending back into our communities and to programs that address the root causes of terrorism and climate change.
